I was looking at one of my favourite lipsticks today, Heroine by MAC, and I realised that it wasn't a shade that I have had for very long as I missed it when it was first released. If fact, I didn't own any MAC lipsticks for quite a long time due to their huge price tag here in NZ ($40-$45). This got me thinking about the lipsticks that I used before purchasing Heroine that gave a similar look. These are not dead on dupes, but I think that they do have some strong similarities and are still interesting to look at!

From just looking at the lipstick bullets alone, you can see that Heroine and Exxxagerate are the closest matches, but Exxxagerate is darker than Heroine. Poisonberry is still a deep purple colour, but it leans to be more berry than purple. Heroine and Exxxagerate are both matte, whereas Poisonberry has a subtle shimmer to it.

So what do you think? I think Exxxagerate is a pretty good dupe for Heroine, especially for the price!

Thanks for posting this! I currently have heroine and I was trying to working out if I wanted poisonberry for the colour or just because I wanted to increase my lipstick collection.
